Pakistan and the UK government -agree to hold a biannual interprovincial -meeting of education ministers

Pakistan and the UK Agree on Biannual Education Ministerial. So, the British Council and the UK’s Foreign, Commonwealth, and Development Office backed the decision of Pakistani provincial ministers to start a biannual Interprovincial Ministerial meeting.

Ministers will carry on discussions that were started at the forum. Such as making sure that national policies and cross-provincial cooperation are aligned, using this new platform.

The provincial education ministers and secretaries from Punjab, Sindh, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, and Gilgit-Baltistan were part of the Pakistani delegation. Which was headed by Wajiha Qamar, Minister of State for Federal Education and Professional Training.

The delegates pledged to turn their participation into real educational reforms, especially by creating strategic alliances with UK universities. They pledged to strengthen their collaboration with the British Council in the areas of curriculum reform, digital education, teacher preparation, and the development of young skills. They also looked at potential future partnerships between the Scottish Government and Pakistan to enhance capacity building and teacher training.

The British High Commissioner, Jane Marriott CMG OBE, said that

Education is crucial for young people to realize their full potential and lead satisfying lives. Growth, productivity, and prosperity all depend on it. The historic collaborations between the UK and Pakistan to raise the standard of education for girls and underprivileged kids make me proud. To improve education outcomes at the system level, the UK is providing technical assistance and funds for new research to help the government make better use of its own resources. I am thrilled that a robust group from Pakistan is attending the Education World Forum in London with such enthusiasm. This is but one illustration of how we may work together to enhance educational systems, discover potential, and promote progress for both parties.

James Hampson, the Country Director for Pakistan for the British Council, said. “We are happy to support Pakistan’s participation in the Education World Forum. Seeing Pakistan’s narrative told to a worldwide audience in London was fantastic. Although there are many obstacles to overcome, progress is being made, and we are prepared to support Pakistan’s success.

“True progress demands more than classrooms — it calls for skills, critical thinking, and digital readiness. Stated Wajiha Qamar, Minister of State for Federal Education & Professional Training. Our goal is to develop students into competent leaders for the future of Pakistan.
