PMDC Introduces an Online System for Licensing :  Punjab medical and dental colleges can now register using a digital licensing platform that was launched by the Pakistan Medical and Dental Council (PMDC).

The effort, according to PMDC President Dr. Rizwan Taj, is a historic step, and the new platform will provide candidates with all-encompassing assistance. For added convenience, practitioners will also receive their original certificates by courier.

May 31, 2025, Islamabad — To update the registration and licensing process for medical and dental professionals, the Pakistan Medical and Dental Council (PMDC) has formally launched an online licensing system. Practitioners nationwide, marking a significant step towards digital transformation.

The recently implemented technology is intended to give both recent graduates and active physicians a quicker, more transparent, and easier-to-use platform. Since the start of this program, candidates no longer need to physically visit PMDC offices in order to submit licensing requests, monitor their applications, and obtain approvals.

According to Dr. Taj, a nationwide digital rollout is planned.

Additionally, Dr. Taj disclosed that the digital registration method will be gradually implemented across the country. Peshawar and Karachi will host the second phase’s launch, while Jamshoro and Balochistan will host the third. The fourth phase of the deployment has been assigned to Multan.

PMDC officials claim that the online platform will provide greater openness in the licensing process. Cut down on needless paperwork and drastically cut down on delays. According to a PMDC official, “this is a historic move towards making healthcare regulation more efficient.” “We aim to maintain the standards of healthcare delivery in Pakistan and provide the medical community with a seamless experience.”

Users can register, upload necessary files, pay fees online, and get real-time updates through the system. Additionally, it has built-in verification tools to enhance data accuracy and stop fraud.

The new method has been praised by medical experts who see it as a long-overdue advancement. Many people hope that other PMDC services will eventually be included in the digital method.

The official PMDC website now offers access to the online licensing platform. To help consumers through the shift, the council has also established a special helpline and support staff.

This change brings Pakistan’s medical license system into line with international best practices for digital governance and healthcare regulation.
